The Peace and Sport Council of Afghanistan is proud to announce Ambassador Dr. Nasir Ahmad Andisha as the recipient of the 2025 Peace Prize, recognizing his exceptional leadership, diplomatic service, and lifelong dedication to peace, justice, and the welfare of the Afghanistan people.

Ambassador Andisha is one of Afghanistan’s most accomplished diplomats, widely respected for his principled stance on human rights, multilateral cooperation, and neutrality. He currently serves as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva.

Distinguished Career in Diplomacy

Prior to his current role, Ambassador Andisha held several senior positions within the Afghanistan Foreign Service, including:
• Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2015–2019)
• Ambassador of Afghanistan to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji (2011–2015)
• Director General, Fifth Political Division (United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) (2009–2011)
• Director of Multilateral Economic Relations and International Financial Institutions (2006–2007)

Amb. Andisha has also served internationally, including:
• Consultant at the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels (2006)
• Delegate at the Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the United Nations Headquarters in New York (2008)

Before entering the diplomatic corps, he worked as a Field Officer for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in northern Afghanistan between 1998 and 2001, contributing to humanitarian relief during one of the country’s most challenging periods.

Academic Contributions and Education

Dr. Andisha has taught at the Institute of Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at Al Biruni University in Kapisa Province, helping shape the next generation of Afghanistan’s diplomats and scholars.

He holds:
• A Master’s degree from Texas A&M University
• A PhD from the Asia Pacific College of Diplomacy at the Australian National University
