The Peace & Sport Council of Afghanistan is proud to officially launch the 1st Literary Competition for Somonian High School Students (Words of Peace) a meaningful initiative created in partnership with Books for Peace, led by Professor Antonio Imeneo.
As part of the launch, the President of the Peace & Sport Council of Afghanistan, Mr. Ehssanullah AGHBAR, visited classrooms at Somonian High School in Tajikistan to present the competition and invite students to participate in this inspiring journey of creativity, dialogue, and peacebuilding.
This project brings together the shared vision of the Peace & Sport Council of Afghanistan and Books for Peace: empowering young people through culture, education, and human values while fostering hope and peaceful coexistence. More than 500 students of Somonian High School now have the opportunity to express their dreams, ideas, and aspirations through the power of writing.
We express our special appreciation to Hon. Antonella Sberna, Vice-President of the European Parliament, for her valued support and for serving as Patroness of this Literary Competition. Her encouragement reflects the importance of investing in young voices and building bridges of understanding across nations.
Together, through international cooperation, education, culture, and sport, we continue working toward a future where the youth in Afghanistan can become ambassadors of peace, dialogue, and positive change.
